I’m a football (also called soccer for some weird reason) fanatic, I admit it. And living in Australia is not helping this addiction much as I’m being deprived of sleep for following this beautiful game.
Like yesterday when I woke up at 4:30 am to see my team play in the Champions League against Olympic Marseille (you’ll have to guess which team I support).
This made me feel a bit like a zombie through the day but I’m more or less used to it as I do this “routine” almost once a week.
But let’s get on topic, which is supposed to be gaming.
While I was doing my daily checking of emails / websites / forums I discovered that Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 had a PC demo out, so I went to my ISP mirror and grabbed it (I’ll talk about the bandwidth-deprived Australiana internet experience some other day).
I only played it for around 10 minutes before dinner and I was very disappointed. Not with the game itself, which looks and plays great, but with the obvious laziness of the developers (Konami) that still don’t understand that a PC is not an Xbox 360 or a PS3 and assume that everybody plays their PC games with a game-pad? How hard will it be for them to change the code and the UI a bit and make this game feel like a PC game and not a half-arsed port?
I’ll give the game another go tonight but not for long as LOTRO is having a double XP weekend and hopefully that will take me closer to level 35 and a mount (if I can save enough gold for it that is).
Yes, LOTRO is my current MMO and also currently my main game, mostly thanks to that amazing thing called “Lifetime Subscription”, so a lot of the talk here will be about this wonderful game but the guys and gals at Turbine even though I don’t play each nearly as much as I would like to…
